About Jolada Kadak Rotti
Kadak rotti is jolada rotti (sorghum flatbread) that is patted by hand, cooked on a clay tava and then dried until it is crisp. Drying is what lets it travel and keep for weeks, which is why households in Ilkal, Hungund and Bagalkot have always stocked it.
We will source it from women-run home kitchens in the region and pack it in airtight, food-grade packs for Bengaluru.
How to eat it
- Break it over curd with a spoon of shenga chutney pudi and a drizzle of oil.
- Serve with ennegai (stuffed brinjal), jhunka or any palya.
- Crumble it into hot dal or saaru for a quick meal.
